You may post any topic you wish that you feel would be of interest to your neighbors. Please acquaint yourself with the following information regarding the use of the CORONADO DISCUSSION LIST
The "e-mail exchange format" is a way to immediately connect to a group of people that have all signed up to receive the information posted immediately
you can sign up to receive each post as it comes or all at once at the end of the week by signing up for "digest form". Rather than signing up for digest form consider opening a g-mail account, this way you choose when and what to view. It is a recommended way to enjoy at you design. Go to Posting Tips for instructions as to how to do this.......
some topics include invitations to gatherings, lost/found pets, CNA information, public notices, info on recent crimes or suspicious people, political goings on, business info, many of the topics relate to issues that affect the Coronado Community etc etc....There is no limit to what types of topics you may post.
The CORONADO DISCUSSION LIST may not be used for SPAM.
Sometimes the list is busy, sometimes it is slow. Sometimes you may find the information interesting or relevant, sometimes you might find it boring and offensive. People are encouraged to voice there opinions. I think by definition that they can be expected to occasionally use provocative language, and as stated could be perceived as excessive or offensive to some people.
The DELETE button is a great way for you to control what information it is you want to read or don't read
When you "REPLY to sender", it will only reply to the author of the post, when you "REPLY TO ALL, it will go to everyone on the "List
additional information:
The address of the discussion list is;
central-phoenix-discuss@centralphoenix.org
Please subscribe at http://www.centralphoenix.org/list as mentioned above this is where you can specify how to receive communications, for example you can receive the discussion in its digest form, rather than in real-time.
What "format" (regular or digest) should you choose when you sign up is important to you as an individual. The discussion list can be a bit busy at times, so if you do not want your e-mail box filled and the list serve respects that, it is suggested that you initially sign up for digest form which comes "once a week", or occasionally check the archives to see what is up. Reading some of the archives, before you sign up can give you a sense of what level of participation is best suited for you.
You can read the October 5, 2006 COMMITTEE REPORT, philosophy and conclusions about the guidelines, how it came to be. The membership of the Coronado Neighborhood Association voted to retain the "connection to the Central City Discuss" due to the "freedom of information, independent exchange of thought and opinion".
Please make note of the disclaimer posted at the bottom of each posting:
The messages exchanged on this list in no way reflect the official
position of the Coronado Neighborhood Association or centralphoenix.org This e-mail list is maintained by an outside source, with no financial tie, or
editorial directive from the Coronado Neighborhood Association.
This is a e-mail exchange group This list serve is designed to provide announcement as well as a free exchange of neighborhood news and opinions. Providing for attachments and links, and instant real time communication.
Lastly, since the implementation of the "reply to sender" option, many of the replies are not re-posted as a "reply to all", to keep the back and forth to a minimum when it concerns a request for example a rental or repair person......this lack of "public" response does not mean that individuals are not responding or placing persons in contact with those who can help with the posting to the group. It is a way of keeping the "traffic" to a minimum.
Sign up today, introduce yourself to the group and a welcome email will be on its way to you!
