We found her in the neighborhood of 15th avenue and Fairmont (just south of Indian School) last week. I brought her to the office, where she spent a day with us. Everyone who had an opportunity to interact with her found her to be very sweet and good natured, though no one was able to adopt her. That evening after it cooled off a little, we walked the neighborhood where she was found and I talked to people who were out but found no leads to pursue. At one point she approached a house that she seemed to recognize but it was empty and the realtor said it had been in foreclosure for at least a couple of months. At about 9:30 p.m. I saw a bumper sticker on a vehicle in a driveway that indicated the owner was an animal lover. Taking a chance, I rang the doorbell. The young man who opened the door also opened his home to her, even though he already had one rescue dog and couldn?t keep a second. He created this flyer and distributed it around the neighborhood and to friends and has investigated no-kill shelters. We have until Sunday to figure something out and are hoping that she can start a new chapter of her life in a better environment. Feel free to share the flyer/information with anyone you think needs and would benefit from a canine companion!
